What is the difference between an exercise drink and a hydration drink?
Effort Drink
Exercise drinks are designed to provide rapid, long-lasting energy during exercise. They contain a combination of maltodextrin, sucrose and fructose for tri-source energy, as well as BCAAs (amino acids) for their antioxidant properties. They are also isotonic, meaning they are absorbed quickly by the body to provide instant hydration and energy. They also contain vitamins and minerals to compensate for losses linked to perspiration.
Hydration Drink
Hydration drinks, for their part , are formulated to maintain the body's water and electrolyte balance. They are ideal for compensating for water and mineral losses due to perspiration, with minimal caloric intake. They contain essential electrolytes (Na, K, Mg, Ca, Zn) and bicarbonates to neutralize muscle acidity. Their very little sweet taste makes them easy to consume without feeling nauseated, even during prolonged activities.
