Benefits
Strawberry, redcurrant and beetroot energy compote is excellent for those looking to improve their sports performance during exercise. This unique combination of natural ingredients offers a range of benefits to the body thanks to their nutritional and energetic properties. In this article, we'll explore the specific benefits of each ingredient and how they help improve your fitness and overall well-being.
The benefits of strawberries
Rich in antioxidants
Strawberries are known for their high content of antioxidants, particularly vitamin C and anthocyanins. These compounds help fight free radicals in the body, thereby reducing oxidative stress and inflammation. This is particularly beneficial for athletes, as intense exercise can increase the production of free radicals.
Improved heart health
Consuming strawberries can improve heart health thanks to their fiber, potassium and antioxidant content. They help regulate blood pressure, reduce LDL cholesterol and improve endothelial function, which is crucial for maintaining good physical performance.
Natural Energy Boost
Strawberries contain natural sugars and carbohydrates, providing a quick and efficient source of energy. This can be particularly beneficial before a workout or competition to improve endurance and performance.
The benefits of gooseberries
Strengthening the immune system
Gooseberries are an excellent source of vitamin C, which is essential for a strong immune system. For athletes, a robust immune system is vital to prevent disease and infection, allowing a regular training routine to be maintained.
Anti-inflammatory properties
Currants contain flavonoids and anthocyanins, which have anti-inflammatory properties. These compounds help reduce muscle and joint inflammation after an intense workout, promoting faster recovery.
Source of dietary fiber
Rich in fiber, currants help improve digestion and regulate blood sugar levels. This is especially important for athletes who need a stable energy intake to avoid blood sugar spikes and crashes during exercise.
The benefits of beets
Increased endurance
Beets are known for their ability to increase physical endurance thanks to their nitrate content . Nitrates convert into nitric oxide in the body, which improves blood circulation and oxygen delivery to the muscles. This can improve athletic performance, especially in endurance sports.
Reduction of blood pressure
Consumption of beetroot can help lower blood pressure, thanks to its nitrates. Lower blood pressure reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease, which is beneficial for the overall health of athletes.
Source of vitamins and minerals
Beets are rich in essential vitamins and minerals, such as iron, magnesium and potassium. These nutrients are crucial for maintaining good muscle health, reducing fatigue and improving recovery after exercise.
Our compote energy base is made from brown rice syrup, very often used by sports nutrition brands.
Usage tips
This energy compote with strawberries, redcurrants and beetroot is best consumed when you want a quick boost of energy before a difficult course. As it is very liquid, it is digested very quickly and passes quickly into the blood to "feed" the muscle cells.
We advise you to take a bottle every hour during exercise (in order to bring 30g of carbohydrates per hour for efforts of less than 3 hours) at the rate of a third of a gourd every 20 minutes. It is resealable, so you don't need to consume everything in one go like with a classic gel. This results in too much sugar intake which can have a counterproductive effect during exercise (Hypo reaction, cotton legs...). Better a regular intake for your body than the yo-yo effect."
Remember to hydrate regularly after each dose to remove sugar from the mouth. Allow around 500ml of water per hour . If you wait until you are thirsty to drink it will be too late.
In addition to regular physical activity, it is recommended to maintain a varied and balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
